WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO
Drumrainey veterinary surgery is a traditional rural mixed practice that was established in 1949. Our practice is located less than a mile outside Magherafelt.
We understand that if you have a passion for animals, making sure they’re well cared for can sometimes be a stressful and worrying business.
Meet Our Team
Trevor qualified from Liverpool in 1978. Immediately after qualifying he joined the team at Drumrainey veterinary surgery. A few years later he became a partner in the practice and has remained here since. He has a keen interest in large animal medicine and he also enjoys orthopaedic surgery after completing a course in the subject in Edinburgh. In his free time he enjoys playing golf.
Liam qualified from UCD in 1991 with an honours degree in veterinary medicine. After spending a few years in mixed practice he joined Drumrainey veterinary surgery in 1995 before becoming a partner in 1998.He enjoys the buzz and variety of working in a mixed practice and dealing with all species of animals. Liam recently completed a post graduate degree in dairy herd health which gives him expertise in investigating problems such as fertility, nutrition, mastitis, lameness and calf health. Liam is from the locality and enjoys looking after a small suckler herd. He has a passion for skiing.
Miriam is native of county Mayo who qualified with an honours degree from UCD in 2013. She starting working in Drumrainey veterinary Surgery in August 2013. She has particular interest in Large and small animal surgery. In her spare time she enjoys playing volleyball, travelling and taking her black Labrador Cassie for walks.
Christine has been working for Drumrainey veterinary surgery since 1978. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and is also a keen baker, often bringing in treats for the office! She also enjoys taking her miniature schnauzer Fritz for walks.
Deirdre joined Drumrainey veterinary surgery in 1985. Deirdre is originally from Draperstown but is now living in Magherafelt with her husband, three children and two Yorkshire terriers Buddy and Mitch.
Zara started working in Drumrainey veterinary surgery in September 2006. Recently married she enjoys spending time attending to her small flock of pedigree texel sheep and looking after her dogs Minnie and Bruno.
